Reported Fault

"When attempting to start kwiklook it won't run, nothing happens!"

Symptoms
  1. kwiklook runs on the kwiklook Server computer but won't run on Client workstation.
  2. No response after running kwiklook from desktop shortcut.
  3. The kwiklook session appears under the Windows Task Manager but does not appear on the desktop.
Cause
  1. The computer does not have sufficient memory (RAM), is missing a Windows component or does not meet the minimum system requirements.
  2. Windows Compatibility Assistant has flagged kwiklook as incompatible.
Remedy
  1. For insufficient memory:
    1. Add additional memory (RAM) to the computer.
    2. Re-load Windows on the computer.
    3. Load the profile kwiklook under Dependency Walker and send the log file to FutureIT for analysis.
  2. For Windows Compatibility Assistant:
    1. Click Start > Run.
    2. Type 'regedit' and press enter.
    3. In the Registry Editor, navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers
    4. Delete all entries that are associated with 'kwiklook.exe' or 'kloader.exe' or 'lcpssi.exe'.
