SQL Server Installation Log

SQL Server creates a Log file containing details of the Setup Installation. This can be useful when troubleshooting a failed installation. The Log file identifies components that failed to be installed, just search the Log file for the word "Failed" and you will quickly identify the component.

The Log file is titled "SQLSetup<number><ComputerName>_NCLI.log
